Richard Ashcroft - Alone With Everybody
Review Date: 22 June 2000
By now you either believe that the former Verve frontman is a deep,
visionary, romantic hero - or you don't. To this unbeliever Alone With
Everybody is a truly horrible record, filled with anodyne, MOR songs which are seriously overproduced. Ashcroft is clearly a man in awe of his own talent - only this can explain the self-satisfied, lazy lyrics and the passionless musicianship. Even Mick Jagger's solo albums were better than this.
