Reef have been called many things but you can be sure that pretentious is not one of them. The four West Country lads clearly love their music - a particularly retro style of rock - and if anyone else likes it that's a bonus. Their new album won't disappoint any fans, containing enough traditionalist riffs and hummable tunes to get the adrenalin flowing. It's neither much better nor worse than previous efforts but Getaway, while no classic, has an energy, passion and lack of cynicism which many will find refreshing.
