As live albums go, this one is a bit of a mixed bag. Morrissey himself sounds in great spirits, and there's a self-confident swagger in his voice that reflects the remarkable turnaround in his career. The crowd, however, are curiously muted, which robs the proceedings of the atmosphere that a really good live album needs. Despite its title, the tracks here have actually been taken from gigs in Dublin, Glasgow and Birmingham as well as London, so no one city's to blame. Never mind - there's still something magical about hearing the Mozzer performing songs from every phase of his career, from Smiths classics to most of the I Am the Quarry album that was one of last year's most impressive comebacks. Looks like the old misery guts is having the last laugh after all.
