With so many young, introspective female songwriters out there, any newcomer is going to have to work hard to stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately Marie Frank, a twentysomething Danish blonde, fails to show much in the way of invention on this, her debut album. To her credit she can certainly write the sort of cheap, sentimental crooners which sound tailor-made for daytime radio; what she lacks is any character of her own. Natalie Imbruglia fans might enjoy this; others will find its airbrushed production and apple-pie lyrics more than a little tiresome.
