By all accounts Mariah Carey has been in a terrible mood recently. Maybe she's just annoyed that no-one's written any decent songs for her new album, which also doubles as the soundtrack to her forthcoming movie. Glitter is an incredibly weak effort from an artist with Carey's selling power, drearily filled out with a succession of bland rapping, nondescript guest appearances and unconvincing heavy breathing. By the time you get to the end, you'll feel that if you never hear another power ballad in your life it'll be too soon - and whoever wrote the lyrics will be first up against the wall when the next punk revolution came along.
