A 60s icon records an album of duets with stars old and new? Clearly Lulu has learnt something from the example of Tom Jones, whose Reload project did so much to revitalise his career a couple of years ago. To be fair, however, the Scottish singer has had her fair share of collaborations in the past, from David Bowie to Take That, and much of the material here is enjoyable for its kitsch value alone. The ever-present Cliff and Elton camp things up to good effect, while Paul McCartney provides an agreeably quirky re-working of his solo hit 'Let 'Em In'. Elsewhere, Atomic Kitten brew up an electronic storm on a funky cover of 'Shame Shame Shame' and our own Samantha Mumba proves an effective foil on Lulu's most famous song. 'To Sir With Love'. Together may not do much for her credibility (of which she never had much in the first place), but it's good, unpretentious fun all the same.
