Justice
Audio, Video, Disco

Review Date: 04 November 2011

France has a reputation for producing some great electronic artists, Daft Punk and College among them. With their new album Audio, Video, Disco, Justice continue this tradition with an immensely satisfying and fun collection of wonderfully assembled electro gems.

It difficult to ignore the Daft Punk comparisons which permeate through this record, but Justice do compare admirably to their illustrious neighbours. The tracks on Audio, Video, Disco are constructed with an electro-synth identity at its core, with dreamy vocals layered on top. Guitars, too, make an appearance throughout meaning that the tempo and rhythm of the record continually keeps you guessing and never lulls itself into background music.

Audio, Video, Disco is one of the best electro records of the year and should announce loud and clear that there are some new significant players on the electro scene, proving that you can tread the same boards as your more established contemporaries without sounding derivative or languid. This album is neither of those things, in fact it's one of the freshest sounding records of the year.
