Jennifer Lopez is a bona fide superstar but she owes this status less to her music than her position as the girlfriend of rap star Puff Daddy. Her second album plays it safe by playing up to her image as a Latino sex symbol. Sadly this means an awful lot of bland r'n'b and precious little of the authentic salsa rhythms that distinguished her debut. When Lopez hits her stride, most noticeably on the single My Love Don't Cost A Thing she sounds like a sassier version of Janet Jackson. But to get to these high points you have to wade through an awful lot of dross. She can do a lot better than this disappointingly anonymous effort.
