I Am Kloot - Natural History

 rated 4

Review Date: 27 March 2001

Behind the wacky name this trio from Manchester are a fairly traditional guitar band, specializing in acoustic songs with twisted, graphic lyrics. Whatever I Am Kloot lack in originality, however, they make up for in sheer quality. The mood of these songs is dark and dramatic and there's a real sense of power about John Bramwell's ghostly voice that draws the listener in. A highly impressive debut from one of the best new bands of 2001.
