Belfast boy Brian Kennedy divides the critics like few other Irish artists. To some he's one of the most soulful performers the country has ever produced, to others he's a tiresome, self-regarding poser who ruins every song he sings with his histrionic style. This 28-track compilation of Kennedy's three albums to date offers support for both views - that he has a superb voice is undeniable, but he really should get someone to write him some decent material. Sadly, the number of different songwriters listed suggests that Kennedy himself is unsure of the style that suits him best. The interim verdict has to be: so far, so unconvincing.
