Andy White - Andy White
Review Date: 08 May 2001
Andy White has a good claim to being the forgotten man of Irish music - for years the Belfast singer-songwriter has been releasing high-quality albums of hard-edged political folk songs to a loyal but limited fanbase. His latest offering finds him in more relaxed form - the mood is calm and introspective and there's a host of guest performances including Liam O'Maonlai, Bronagh Gallagher and Ursula Burns. It's an enjoyable album, but White's old admirers will be hoping that he doesn't mellow too much - he's beautiful when he's angry.
