A prequel-of-sorts to The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, this barbarian epic-lite follows the fortunes of Mathayus (The Rock) as he evolves from tyrant-taunter to half-man, half-arachnid. Which is progress of sorts. Not as dazzling, in terms of special effects, as the original(s), but it is a solid, no-brain actioner.
