The Jacket

Adrien Brody stars as Jack Starks, a Gulf War veteran and lonesome drifter accused of shooting a patrol cop three times at point blank. The problem is, Starks is suffering from amnesia and can't convince a jury that he is innocent, let alone sane. He is sent to a hospital for the criminally unhinged, and here the movie takes a sharp left. On one hand a film about the lost members of society and on the other a thrilling time travelling adventure, The Jacket teasingly reveals itself to be one of the most interesting and absorbing narratives since Donnie Darko. Both horrifying and fascinating, try not to let the saccharine ending deter you from the film's bigger issues.
