Out of favour Hollywood director Taransky (Pacino) gets a last shot at the brass ring when he 'discovers' the world's first 'synthesipan', Simone (Roberts). Will the world be fooled by a fake actress? Will the creation destroy its creator? Director Niccol offers a contemporary take on the Frankenstein myth that is more intriguing than satisfying, but Pacino is in excellent comic form.
