Hank (Thornton) falls in love with the wife (Berry) of the last man he has executed whilst working as a prison guard on Death Row. Trouble enough? Nope - she's black, he's racist. An excellent script and performances eloquently flesh an intriguing premise out, with Thornton, as usual, taking the laurels.
