When the parents of the Baudelaire children (Aiken, Browning and Hoffman) die in a fire, the wealthy youngsters are sent to stay with distant relative and dastardly thief, Count Olaf (Carrey). An excellent kids' movie that has plenty to entertain the adults, including the perfectly-pitched gothic tone and Jude Law's ironic narration.
