Despite it's Maeve Binchy-ish set-up of a group of strangers bonding over the course of the titular language lessons, Italian for Beginners is a harshly honest drama in the Dogme style. How you'll like this depends a lot on how you feel about the limitations imposed by Dogme's conventions, but (believe it or not) it is a surprisingly upbeat romantic comedy. Your call.
