Jack (Owen) gets a job as a croupier in a semi-legitimate casino; it seems to be the break he and his girlfriend Marion (McKee) need, but Jack is relentlessly drawn into a vortex of gambling, sex and vice. A quietly persuasive film in which the pace ebbs and flows, Croupier is an interesting, absorbing film.
